Naima Mohamud is an award-winning director and writer.
Born in Mogadishu, Somalia and raised in Finland, Naima studied film in London and Los Angeles.
Her first short film, Fatima, won Best Television Live-Action award at the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival and went on to win the main prize of the Children’s Jury at Oberhausen.
In 2014, she made the short film Breaking the Cycle with Aferim! and Child’s Pose producer Ada Solomon.
Naima is currently preparing her first feature film.
